Last week, Dr. Jorge Lasmar was invited by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to deliver a lecture focused on global perspectives in the fight against terrorism. His presentation particularly addressed the theme of preventing and responding to terrorist attacks related to xenophobia, racism, intolerance, and religious beliefs (XRIRB) in the Brazilian context. This event, co-organized by UNODC, the UN, and the Office of the Coordinator of Counterterrorism of the European Union in Brussels, provided a valuable platform for discussing and sharing approaches that extend beyond European and American models and literature. Global collaboration is essential for creating a world where understanding and unity prevail over division.
